Bridal Bouquet Tutorial
Thank you for choosing to make this lovely piece! Step along with me
and you'll learn how to create a stunning bridal bouquet for Annie
Rieperts "Witch Bride," and you can then put that knowledge to use
creating all sorts of other flowers!
In
the kit, you will find the
following items (any of which can be changed with your own items):
one lace runner
ivy leaves and green thread
iris pattern
tulle
beads
feathers
dried flowers
florist wire for handle
daisies
silk ribbon
wire (or dried stems) for irises and daisies
micro beads
You
must supply the following:
black sewing thread
paint (I used maroon)
tacky and super glue
tweezers and small sharp scissors
India ink (optional)
bead needle (optional)
mouse pad and embossing tool (for iris and daisy cupping) (optional)
Step
One:
Gather
your kit
contents or alternative supplies. (I
don’t remember if I colored the wire black… you
might want
to do so before
gluing anything to it.)

Step
2:
Take
your
tulle and cut into five long, thin
strips. I twisted mine between my fingers to give a slight curve to the
edges. Lace
the bead you are given onto the ends of the tulle; glue tulle to the
curve of
the wire handle. Then, carefully cut around your lace, with the larger
rose at
the top, descending to the smaller rose for the bottom of the bouquet.
Use this
opportunity to stiffen the lace with Stiffy, watered down glue, or
diluted
paint (I used maroon to match the Hocus Pocus Witch Bride) to slightly
color
the lace. Once dry, glue beads - sparingly - to the edge of the rose.
Use Mod Podge
(matte) to seal them.

Step 3:
Use a
running
stitch to gather the interior of the
rose, pull tightly, and secure to the wire handle with black thread. At
this
point, you can choose to keep the handle the length it is, or snip the
shaft
off with metal cutters (as I did on the original bouquet). If you do
cut it
shorter, leave approximately a 3/4" to 1" stem - but do not cut the
handle! Otherwise, the doll will not have anything to hold onto.
